Earth friendly alternative to plastic wrap. Completely natural and reusable, the waxed cloth becomes pliable from the heat of your hands so that It can be easily moulded to seal and protect your food to keep it fresher for longer.
Use these clever biodegradable, non-toxic wraps to cover a bowl, wrap a sandwich, a block of cheese, loaf of bread, fruits and vegetables or fold into a useful packet to hold snacks.
Each wrap is handmade using 100% organic cotton or organic cotton/hemp fabric infused with a blend of organic beeswax, jojoba oil, coconut oil and tree gum.
Beeswax and tree gum are naturally antibacterial, the jojoba and coconut oils make for a more flexible product; the tree gum also helps it to keep the shape you need in the fridge.
Easy to care for and long lasting, they can be used over and over and over again.
Just rinse under cool water, using a small amount of mild dish soap to remove food remains, and hang to air dry. If you want to reuse your wrap straight away, pat dry with a clean cotton tea towel.
Not recommended for raw meat as washing in hot water will cause the wrap to deteriorate by softening or even melting the wax coating (which will shorten the useful life of your wrap). When you take a wrapped item from the refrigerator, warm the wrap in your hands for just a few seconds, the wrap will be more flexible to remove.
Store flat, folded or rolled in a drawer, or roll them up and pop them in a jar or vase on your kitchen bench - they will look fabulous and be easy to reach when needed. You can store them in your fridge too, just help them to warm up a bit before you use them (hold the wrap in your hands to warm it up before you unfold it, it only takes a few seconds).
When your wrap is retired, cut it into strips and use to tie up your tomato plants, place it in your compost or bury in your garden. Beeswax cloth wraps are fully compostable and will break down over time and enrich your soil.
